2012 Vestry Meeting holds!

Otunba AwofesoThe Annual General Meeting of the Church
(aka Vestry Meeting) holds on Sunday, 26th February, 2012 immediately after the 10.00am service. The Vestry meeting serves as the platform for the church to deliberate on issues and matters that affect her members and the community. It is also an avenue to contribute and make suggestions towards the improvement of the church spirituality, services, welfare, environment and other affairs of the church.

Aside the presentation and consideration of the various reports, elections will be held into the post of the People's Warden, Parish Councillors and Auditors. Appointments will also be made by the Vicar for the posts of the Vicar's Warden and Verger.

Eligible voters must be subscribing members who must have fully paid their church dues and must be above 18 years. They must also have been baptized according to the rites of the Church. Those who intend to be nominated for positions must in addition be active, regular and committed Christians, must be practising communicants and must NOT belong to any cult or secret society.

All members are hereby invited to the 2012 Annual Vestry Meeting to contribute positively towards the church's continued exixtence.

P-R-A-Y!

1 Chronicles 16:11 NIV says "Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always"
To help you remember the four parts of prayer, think of the acrostic P – R – A – Y.

P – Praise the Lord! Not sure how? Think you'll run out of words? Not if you use the scriptures. David gives us 2 beautiful example in 1 Chronicles 29:11-13. It's one you can use: 'Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendour. Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom… in your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.
