Proud Heritage...Glorious future in Christ.

Confirmation Service held!

The confirmation of candidates was held today at St. Paul's Church, Breadfruit by The Most Rev. Dr. Ephraim Adebola Ademowo, the Bishop of Lagos and the Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos. Bishop Ademowo, who arrived in the company of his chaplain, was welcomed by the Guild of Stewards, the Brigade, the Church Wardens, the Priests and the Women delegation. He arrived by 9.50am for the service.

The service of Holy Communion was set in the Yoruba Sung Eucharist and celebrated by The Retired Bishop of Lokoja Diocese, Rt. Rev. George Bako. The Sermon was delivered by Bishop Ademowo during which he congratulated the confirmees for taking their next step of faith. He admonished them to build for themselves, a very strong pillar of faith by studying the Word of God daily while avoiding living double standards. The Archbishop also urged the congregation to cultivate the habit of dancing in God's praise. The Bishop finally lifted the atmosphere with popular chant, Psalm 46, which he sings while he shaves every morning. The Congregation then joined in the chanting of the popular verse "The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge".

P-R-A-Y!

1 Chronicles 16:11 NIV says "Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always"
To help you remember the four parts of prayer, think of the acrostic P – R – A – Y.

P – Praise the Lord! Not sure how? Think you'll run out of words? Not if you use the scriptures. David gives us 2 beautiful example in 1 Chronicles 29:11-13. It's one you can use: 'Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendour. Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom… in your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.
